O' man, you became a worm and went on creeping several times in the past; Imagine, what was your plight when you became a snake and a scorpion. You also became a horse, a donkey, a dog as also a buffalo and a cow; You became a bat, an owl, a stork and a crow several times. Stuck up in filth, you shrieked in agony, forgetting the name of God; Avtar says, at least now you should exalt yourself by uniting with God. |
Meaning
Here, , Baba Avtar Singh Ji talks about the different lives that man lived before attaining the Human form. He wants man to know and realise the value of this human life.
Before attaining human life, man had taken the form of worms and wandered on the ground. He had a life of a scorpion, snake, donkey, dog, horse, owl, crow and many more. He lived in dirt and cried for help but forgot to remember the Almighty God.
Hence, He says that man should raise himself from the dirt and unite with God. By this he will know the value of Human life.
